Durham's newest film festival returns for a second helping of adventurous and striking short films from around the world, including fiction, documentaries, experimental, and wholly unclassifiable works. Come marvel at the everyday beauty and strangeness that surrounds us.

IN THE LOBBY: Delayed Reactions: A photography exhibit by Durham photographer MJ Sharp, spotlighting dead-of-night photography

Featuring 4 program blocks:
Block 1: Thursday Feb 17, 8:00
Block 2: Friday Feb 18, 8:00 Advance tickets sold out
Block 3: Saturday Feb 19, 3:15. Advance tickets sold out
Block 4: Saturday Feb 19, 8:00 Advance tickets sold out
Weekend Pass: $40 Weekend passes are sold out.
Advance individual ticket sales for Saturday afternoon and Saturday night blocks are sold out.
NOTE: About 20 tickets will be available for sale at the door for each show. Door sales are first-come, first served, CASH OR CHECK ONLY, starting when the box office opens about one hour before the show (2:00 for matinee, 7:00 for evening).

BLOCK 1: Thursday February 17, 8:00
Strange Beauty opening night, featuring;
• An eclectic mix of strange and beautiful short films from around the world.
Interviewed - a Durham Cinematheque program by local filmmaker and archivist Tom Whiteside and Durham sound artist Khristian Weeks.
• Thursday After Party: Fullsteam Brewery, 726 Rigsbee Ave. Free, informal gathering.

BLOCK 2: Friday February 18, 8:00
Strange Beauty second night, featuring:
• More strangely beautiful documentaries, animations, music videos, fiction films, and otherwise unclassifiable works.
Sound Between Lines: Triangle Soundpainting Orchestra -- world premiere of a documentary by Jason Middleton.
• Live musical performance by the Triangle Soundpainting Orchestra, with video accompaniment by Jim Kellough's WINKY.
• Friday After Party: Flash mob at a Mystery Venue to be revealed Friday evening.

BLOCK 3: Saturday February 19, 3:00
Strange Beauty Saturday matinee, featuring:
• Another heaping helping of short films lying somewhere between terrifying normality and sublime fever dream.
Drifting by Seattle filmmaker Malic Amalya, with live musical accompaniment by Chapel Hill's Felix Obelix.

BLOCK 4: Saturday February 19, 8:00
Strange Beauty final night, featuring:
• A last jolt of films about the real and the surreal worlds hidden behind the veil of the everyday.
The Strange Beauty Aural Fixation, a listening session featuring audio documentary and audio art by Big Shed Audio+Media.
• After Party: Motorco, 723 Rigsbee Ave. Music by Justin Robinson & the Mary Annettes, Felix Obelix, and Schooner; plus a dance installation/performance by Alexis Mastromichalis. $7 cover (show your Strange Beauty weekend pass for a $2 discount on the cover charge.)
