Manbites Dog presents MUSE Festival:
six weeks of alternative theater, performance,
poetry, music, movies, and more

Monday nights during the Festival
Movies@Manbites
Our film viewing club presents FREE* movies and discussion every MONDAY at 8:00 p.m. during the Festival. Join film critic and Indy Arts Editor David Fellerath for Monday night movies at Manbites Dog Theater. Each week's offerings will be thematically linked (more or less!) to the week's MUSE offering.
June 18: Fritz the Cat
June 25: evening of locally produced films
- Willow Garden (Jim Haverkamp & Don Henderson Baker)—Durham’s Slamdance-co-winner Haverkamp (Monster Road) collaborated last year with Wilmington theater artist Don Henderson Baker to create this gorgeous period piece based on a tragic 18th century Irish ballad.
- Shelter (Christian McIlwain)—Cary filmmaker McIlwain collaborated with screenwriter Jay O’Berski to adapt the Anton Chekhov short story “Agafya.” The film features several familiar figures from local stages, including Dana Marks, Gregor McElvogue, Greg Hohn, Jay O'Berski, and David Fellerath.
- Full Fathom Five (Francesca Talenti)—In May of this year, Hillsborough-based filmmaker (and Sundance veteran) Francesca Talenti made a short film with her UNC-Chapel Hill production class, employing them in the various crew positions critical to the success of any film. The film features assorted animation and editing techniques, and features Manbites Dog Associate Managing Director and House Manager Katja Hill.
- Also, there will be at least one super-secret surprise bonus film, also of Triangle origin!
July 9: Outdoor showing of a silent film classic - possibly Modern Times (1936, Charles Chaplin). Will confirm title beforehand. 9:00 p.m. start
July 16: Reflections in a Golden Eye
July 23: Bull Durham
July 30: Beloved
