a Manbites Dog Theater production

Act a Lady
by Jordan Harrison
Directed by Katja Hill
December 4-20, 2008

Charles Ludlam meets Les Liaisons Dangereuses and Waiting for Guffman in this uproarious comedy. The manly men of a Prohibition-era town decide to put on a play dressed in "fancy-type, women-type clothes". Gender lines blur, eyebrows raise, identities explode, and the Elks Club will never be the same. A thoughtful and exuberant Midwestern fable about the man in every woman, the woman in every man, and the power of theater to uncover both. Accompanied by accordion.
Featuring:
Ryan Brock, J Evarts, Karen Burns, Derrick Ivey, Julie Oliver, Lance Waycaster
